This year, from 2 till 13 October, for the fourth time will take place the International Textile and Fiber Art Symposium at Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Center.
Textiles is one of the most varied sectors of art, which includes artists practicing both classic manifestations, as well as allowing for experimentation and original authoring techniques. Therefore Textile Symposium is one of the most creative Symposiums which is organized by Rothko Center.
This year, 9 participants from 8 countries have approved the participation in the International Textile Symposium: Ellie Niblock (Ireland), Kasia Tons (Australia), Karina Korotkova (Latvia), Koenig Lucy (Germany), Anouk Desloges (Canada), Julia Strikovska (Ukraine), Wonju Kim (South Korea), Diane Lavoie (USA), Sophie Lawniczak (Germany).
Beyond the individual work at Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Center will be held creative studies and public events. On Tuesday, October 3rd at 16.00 Symposium opening with artist presentations, in which they will introduce themselves, their philosophy and creative activity. The symposium closing ceremony with exhibition opening will be held on Friday, October 13th at 16.00.
